Why this beats a letter table
A table tells you that ع is called “Ain”. It does not tell you that in معلش it sits in second position and looks different there than on its own. The transliteration handles that: it knows words, not just characters, and sets the connections correctly. Text made this way never has the errors the check otherwise finds.
The digit convention

This convention grew out of Arabic chat because the digits resemble the letters — 7 and ح, for instance.
